DOC: The Distortion of Sound
The filmakers explain it best:
“The Distortion of Sound is a documentary about the decline of sound quality and how technology has changed the way we listen to music. It will open your ears and inspire you to reach for richer, more soul-stirring musical experiences. Hear it all at http://www.DistortionOfSound.com“
DOC: Be Here to Love Me – A Film About Townes Van Zandt
“There was one point when I realized, man, I can really do this. But it takes blowing everything off. It takes blowing your family off, money, security, happiness, friends… Blow it off, get a guitar, and go.” ~ Townes Van Zandt
Margaret Brown’s 2005 documentary on the incomparable Townes Van Zandt. At once myth-making and humanizing, Be Here to Love Me is a brilliant portrait of a real-life troubadour, as creative as he was destructive. “There ain’t no dark til something shines.”

Featuring everything from ideological rants to putting music to their landlord’s notes, their songs are usually under one minute in duration… though that’s apparently not why they call themselves “Minutemen.” Blink your ears and you’ll miss’em! DIY!

DOC: Sex Pistols – The Filth and the Fury
“It’s Hell. It’s Hard. It’s Horrible… It’s enjoyable to a small degree.” ~ Johnny Rotten No, no! He doesn’t mean the film. It’s about life as a Sex Pistol. Much maligned and long misrepresented, the surviving Sex Pistols themselves participate in this documentary, which serves to set the record straight. Some members can actually play
